But, how do you know which social media to use and when to use them? Will a website give your coalition a sufficient online presence or do you need blogs, podcasts, videos on YouTube or profiles on Facebook or Twitter? In this session, we’ll use examples from coalitions around the country to look at some of the more popular social media applications and talk about how and when to use them, for whom and why social media shouldn’t replace traditional media efforts. We’ll also address why social media are more about building relationships and encouraging conversation, and how that can get people talking about what your coalition is doing.
